ISO 21815 is the international standard that governs how safety systems on mining and earth-moving machinery must detect hazards, warn operators, and automatically intervene to prevent incidents. ISO 21815 is a multi-part international standard, developed jointly by ISO technical committees, covering collision warning and avoidance for earth-moving machinery, mobile underground mining machinery, and road construction machinery. It sets out general requirements for detecting objects, warning the operator, applying automatic intervention control, and the test procedures used to verify that a system performs as claimed.

In South Africa, ISO 21815 underpins compliance with the EMESRT Vehicle Interaction control model.
